Historical Characters Murder Mystery Party

Names are drawn from a hat to fill in the blanks. Staying in character, each accuser has to make up a story to explain what they were doing with the person they were with when they saw the suspicious activity; each accused character has to make up a story to explain why the activity was not, in fact, suspicious.

1. You are outside together with ____ and you see ____ looking through a pair of high-power binoculars. As you approach, the person quickly tries to hide the binoculars behind their back.

2. You are walking together with ____ down the hallway together until you hear the voices of two people shouting at each other coming from a door. You hesitate outside, the door opens and ____ starts to come out while shouting "you'll regret it!". Upon seeing you, the person retreats back into the room, slams the door and then everything is quiet.

3. You are walking through the hotel lobby with ____. You see two people discussing something in low tones. As you walk by, you see that one person is ____. When they see that you recognize them they say something sharp to the second person who turns and quickly walks out.

4. You are returning to your room accompanied by ____. You go to the wrong floor by accident, but when you try the door that you think is yours it opens and you see ____ in the room hunched over a sheet of paper. As you enter, the person looks at you quickly and then promptly rips up the piece of paper.

5. You are by the fireplace with ____ nearby. You see ____ walk by and as they pass a piece of paper from a sheath they are clutching comes loose and flutters to the ground. You pick it up and call after the person to come get it, but as you hand it back you notice that what is written on it is gibberish. The person snatches the page away from you and then hurries off.

6. While you are sleeping you hear a loud crashing sound. You and ____ come out of your nearby rooms, and see ____ quickly scoop up several strange looking tools back into a box that they must have dropped to make the loud noise. The person quickly turns and ducks into their room before you get a chance to ask any questions.

7. You are standing in the hotel lobby with ____ and through the windows you see ____ peering through the bushes. They pull a black bag from a bush and walks away with it from the hotel.

8. You return to your room, following behind ____. As you turn the corner to where your rooms are located you see ____ with their ear pressed against a door. The person jumps back and quickly passes by you in the corridor clutching something in their hands.

9. You are having breakfast at the table next to ____ when you see ____ slip into the kitchen carrying a black satchel. A few minutes later you hear shouting and the person comes running out empty handed.

10. You are checking in to the hotel at the same time as ____. While you stand at the counter, ____ walks up and is told by the clerk that a man wearing a dark hat and coat left a package for the person.
